WeShine Dance Competition 2020

New Century Dance has been a frequent and elite competitor in the WeShine Dance Competition, having attended all since the 2nd iteration of the contest. Lu Lao Shi has also been invited as a main judge on several occasions as well.

Unfortunately, due to the widespread outbreak of COVID-19, the competition can no longer be held in person. As a result, WeShine had decided to format itself as a virtual competition.

Featured here on this year’s poster is NCD student Kiana Nejad, during her solo, “Galloping”, from last year’s competition. She earned Platinum for her performance and placed second under the Pre-teen 12-14 category.

Going virtual is not the easiest for many reasons, but stands as a testament of the resilience of the dance community!
